The framework for the development of young people is an approach to youth work, which includes four things: it was designed to meet the development needs of young people based on their activities and views the potential of youth as resources and establish partnerships with young people for positive change, keeping the change.
The development of young cadres of common approaches and theories that seek to build a core of skills, attributes and skills of individuals andlevel of organization that are necessary to provide support and opportunities for all young people. By its nature, this picture is multifaceted. No person, no institution or organization acting alone can ensure that all young people acquire the assets, skills and support they need to succeed. We must all work together toward common goals and respect of common principles of youth development for this purpose.
There are 8 basic principles of youth development. They are an organizationstructure that supports the development of young people, a safe, physical environment that supports young people and the needs of staff, a holistic approach to all young people, youth participation and collaboration support, high expectations and boundaries clear activities that are engaging and encourage the learning mechanisms in place to help young people to go on as young adults.
1. An organizational structure that promotes the youth development
An organizational structure thatsupports the development of young people and includes five elements. First, the mission and vision of an organization to promote youth development and an important part of the organization's budget is earmarked for direct services for young people. Secondly, staff and board members have a clear understanding of the organization's mission and vision statement and direct the planning, advocacy and services around the mission and vision. Thirdly, the organization invests in staff developmentand training and the personal contribution is encouraged and implemented. Fourth, at all levels of staff are kept informed of the organization's objectives, projects and changes. Fifth, proponents of 'organizing around political issues of funding and services directly related to their constituents.
2. A safe, physical environment that promotes the youth and the needs of staff
A safe environment that supports the physical needs of young people and staff includes five elements. First, staffbuilding is physically safe, clean, with good lighting and equipment. Second, a security plan and emergency is in place with all staff is trained in emergency procedures. Thirdly, the rules are published and posted in a conspicuous place. Fourth, the staff are equipped with supplies, equipment and space they need to perform their duties efficiently. Fifth, young people have their own cozy space where youth can be detained pending a worker.
3. A HolisticApproach to all young
Adopt a holistic approach to all young people the means unless your organization is doing these four things. Promotion of cultural diversity with respect to ethnicity, social origin, gender, sexual orientation and youth culture. Secondly, the staff at all levels reflect the population being served. Thirdly, the entire organization is oriented towards the Agency's mission, goals and vision services through staff meetings, announcements andnewsletter. Fourth, a reference system is in place through a list of services and staff contact to ensure that all young people to obtain appropriate referrals as needed.
4. Young people's input and collaboration
An essential component of the framework of youth development provides the opportunity for young people's contribution and collaboration. This means: to enable young people to contribute ideas for programs, services and events and special projects. Establish advisory councils and youthcommittees. Create opportunities for young volunteers and paid. Develop community service projects in which youth plan and execution of tasks. Involving young people in awareness raising activities. Encouraging young people to participate in civic activities, forums and public meetings. Voter registration drives of the sponsors, in collaboration with young people. Young people should also play a role in the planning, decorating the area and orienting new youth program. Provide young people with membership cards, buttons and t-shirtscreate a sense of belonging and identification with the program.
5. Support relationships
All young people need adults in their lives who care for them and support them in their dreams, their goals and aspirations. E 'essential that the organization and its staff provide an environment where the care of every young person has someone who can speak, tracks their progress, help set up goals and connecting with resources, if necessary. Secondly, there should be strategies in place for parentsparticipation and for parents to talk with staff about their concerns and challenges. Third, interactions with young people should be friendly, positive and appropriate. Fourthly, there should be some degree of consistency of staff. Finally, procedures for confidentiality must be clear and communicated to all young people.
6. Expectations and clear boundaries
Service young people should have high expectations for young people and should model these expectations with their behavior at work. Focus onstrengths. Clear limits should be established with other consequences of expulsion. All young people should receive a copy of the written code of conduct and organization of staff must fit the rules. Promote the establishment of rules of ownership of a juvenile court to manage problem behaviors.
7. The activities are engaging and learning Foster
The organization must provide programs, services and activities that promote cognitive development, social development and emotional. Buildcritical thinking, decision making, teamwork and problem solving in group and individual activities. Provide life skills training on topics such as money management, preparation of job, time management and other important life skills. Ensure that activities are developmental and age appropriate for your target group. Making learning more interesting, encouraging curiosity and creativity.
8. Mechanisms in place to help young people to go forward as a young adult
Build Roomprograms for the transition of young adult life. Programs should be offered to different age groups. When the young people outside the program must be easily integrated into the next. Giving young people the rights and responsibilities as they move from one program to another. Create volunteer opportunities and internships for young people over. Train young people and older how to engage employees. Create the closure through formal rituals such as graduation, awards ceremonies or one-to-onecreated after the closing session for young people and helps them plan their next steps. After spending some time to familiarize yourself with the 8 core principles of youth development, to look more closely at your body and see how he measures in terms ofbe supportive of the strategy for youth development. Then share this information with your supervisor, your colleagues and people who check if you are a supervisor.
